Beginnings

We all know the stories of how creative people get into the business of creating for a living, but how did they start using their imaginations in the first place? On the Beginnings podcast, writer and performer Andy Beckerman asks well-known and up-and-coming comedians, musicians, writers and artists about their earliest creative acts and about other formative childhood experiences.

Live from the 56-hour Del Close Marathon in New York City (June 29th, 2013)! And unlike other DCMs, I did not accidentally drink too much, vomit in a trash can at the party space and somehow end up at home sleeping on my bathroom floor. Instead, I got lots of sleep and had a super-fun time with improviser and actor extraordinaire Billy Merritt (The Swarm, The Stepfathers, The Smokes) and author and comedian DC Pierson (Derrick Comedy, Crap Kingdom). We chatted about room forts, touring America, the dangers of live radio, homemade computers, shrimp detectors, Who's the Boss?, and Jewishing up your name. I defy anyone to find nicer, funnier people!
