Beginnings

On today's show I talk to actor and comedian John Ennis. John grew up in Boston and attended Emerson College, where he was in a sketch group with David Cross and Laura Kightlinger. He continued to work with David and became one of the ensemble actors on the incredible and influential sketch program Mr. Show. Since then, John has been in a number of awesome projects from Malcolm in the Middle to Studio 60 to Arrested Development, and besides the films and videos he acts in regularly, he produces two different live monthly sketch shows in LA.

On today's show I talk to comedian Rich Fulcher. Originally on the path to become a lawyer, Rich began taking improv classes at Second City, and soon ditched his juridical goals in favor of comedy. A improv show he created called "Modern Problems in Science" took him to the UK, where he was part of some of the best comedy of the last decade, including The Mighty Boosh and his sketch show with Matt Berry Snuff Box. He's also written an amazing book called Tiny Acts of Rebellion and appeared on a ton of great US programs like Jon Benjamin Has a Van and Drunk History.

On today's show, I talk to Matt Gourley, Jeremy Carter and Mark McConville who collectively make up the creators and stars of the brilliant Superego Podcast. Superego is an improvised sketch show that was borne out of Matt and Jeremy's Channel 101 collaboration Ultraforce. Mark was featured in early episodes of the show, and then soon became a full-time member. Since those early days, the show has had three amazing seasons and boasts an impressive array of guest stars including Paul F. Tompkins, Jen Kirkman and Patton Oswalt.

On today's episode, I talk to comedians Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael. As writers and actors, June and Casey have been involved in some of best comedies of the last few years. Casey was a cast member of SNL and one of the stars of ABC's fantastic Happy Endings, and June stared in Burning Love and currently Adult Swim's NTSF:SD:SUV::. The two met in an acting class at NYU and came up through UCBNY, and their latest film Ass Backwards, which they wrote and starred in, opened Friday and is currently in theaters around the country.

On today's show, I talk to LA-based comedian Nick Wiger. Starting off his professional career as a video game designer, Nick soon moved to comedy. He creates videos for Funny or Die (including "Gungan Style", one of my favorite videos ever) and writes for Adult Swim's NTSF:SD:SUV::. Nick's also a mainstay of the UCB's LA theatre, performing as part of their house sketch team A Kiss From Daddy and their house improv team Last Day at School.
