Beginnings

We all know the stories of how creative people get into the business of creating for a living, but how did they start using their imaginations in the first place? On the Beginnings podcast, writer and performer Andy Beckerman asks well-known and up-and-coming comedians, musicians, writers and artists about their earliest creative acts and about other formative childhood experiences.

On today's show I talk to actor and comedian John Ennis. John grew up in Boston and attended Emerson College, where he was in a sketch group with David Cross and Laura Kightlinger. He continued to work with David and became one of the ensemble actors on the incredible and influential sketch program Mr. Show. Since then, John has been in a number of awesome projects from Malcolm in the Middle to Studio 60 to Arrested Development, and besides the films and videos he acts in regularly, he produces two different live monthly sketch shows in LA.
